Arthur Hitchcox 1834 - 1902

Arthur Hitchcox was my great, great, great grandfather. He was born in Taston, a district of Chipping Norton in England. He married Lydia Stockford in   and they emigrated to New Zealand in 1874. Arthur worked as an agricultural labourer in England, then as a gardener in Dunedin, NZ where the family settled.

                      Here is Arthur aged approx 66 years at his daughter's wedding in 1899.


Arthur's parents were Robert Hitchcox and Mary (nee Betteridge).
