Charles Town Williams was my great, great grandfather. He was born in Maidstone, Kent, England to parents John Williams and Matilda Williams (nee Town).
He married Emily Hitchcox in 1883, in Dunedin, NZ. Not sure which ship he travelled on to NZ.

My Gran remembers him having a very strong Kentish accent when he spoke.
He was a builder/carpenter and helped build the Clarence river bridge near Kaikoura. Also built an addition onto the York family home in Hampden, for his daughter's family.
After he seperated from his wife Emily in later life he lived in Palmerston, Otago, NZ.
